Life is not a one way process. Our actions affect things outside of us; and in turn the outcome of our actions is feedback: information - that we can reflect and learn from. A yoga practice teaches us that sensitivity is necessary for PEACE and contentment, and that our thoughts and perceptions are where this sensitivity begins.
We have a couple of workshops scheduled for July and September that will be perfect for people who are new to yoga. More information about these workshops on our Workshops Page.
For attendance in ongoing timetabled classes, students are encouraged to purchase class cards. Read more here
All class cards purchased prior to the temporary closure associated with Covid 19, are considered valid until the first week of August.

The thing that we all have in common is that we have bodies that are structured around joints, limbs, organs and systems. We all also have a faculty of mind that can be applied to tasks and activities. We have Will, Desire, Fear and Ignorance. Things that we do not understand challenge us and push emotional buttons. We deal with challenges according to previous life experiences. We develop habits and addictions around our emotions.Learning to practice yoga requires that we learn about ourselves.
We recommend that if you are new to our school community, that you give yourself the best opportunity to learn by starting in the Introductory/beginner level classes. This helps you to put down your expectations of yourself and to settle into the journey of learning. We can all be good 'doers' and there is a time and place for this. Learning to be with our Selves with a little, or lot less pressure is less common. As you develop confidence in the basic standing pose asana and shoulder stand and some variations of shoulder stand, then is the time to move into the beginner level classes.
Restorative + breath work + sitting meditation classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings are a change on our timetable. We have introduced these classes specifically to support people to become more compassionate with themselves. When we practice with quiet sequences and longer timing poses and also work in the more subtle realm of breath, the busy nature of the mind, along with it's strong opinions and reactions, becomes increasingly obvious. This is challenging and we often want to shy away from understanding this about ourselves. We prefer to think that we are in control of ourselves. Whislt the practices of breath work and meditation present us with these challenges, the sequencing and the practices offer great comfort. They help nourish our organs and cells. These classes are open to anyone - even students new to the school community.
